I am Left in the Shape of You
solo exhibition, Art Gym Denver Exhibition details
June 27 - July 21, 2024
We are shaped by our relationships – when we choose partners, we learn to adjust here and there. Grow in ways we hadn’t imagined. We develop a private language, in-jokes. Lean on and support each other. When we lose our person, we also lose who we were.
This body of work is an exploration of the uncharted territory that follows such a loss. Inspiration is found in a variety of sources – mythology, the natural world, cultural mourning practices, lived experience, and terms such as “widow’s fog” – weaving together themes of grief and hope, memory and the unknown, brokenness and resilience.
The limited-edition book "Grief" is in the collections of both Colorado College Tutt Library Special Collections and the University of Denver Libraries, Special Collections & Archives.
Ingrid's paintings were featured in the Colorado College Alumni Bulletin, along with other CC artists as part of Art Week.
"Grief" was reviewed in The Metropolitan, Metropolitan State University's online publication.
